Eligibility

Who we fund, and who
we don't.

PIRS funds established U.S. businesses in most industries, in all 50 states. Most approved files are 3+ years in business, with $500K+ in annual revenue and a 500+ FICO for the principal. 12 categories are restricted, and every one of them is named on this page.

  • 3+ years in business
  • $500K+ annual revenue
  • 500+ FICO
  • All 50 states

The short answer

If your industry isn't on our restricted list, you can apply.

PIRS Capital provides working capital of up to $5M to established U.S. businesses. Underwriting reads the revenue that has already arrived in your business bank account, which means the decision rests on your deposit history far more than on a credit score.

That has a practical consequence worth stating up front: businesses a bank turns down often still qualify here, because working-capital underwriting leans on your sales history rather than your credit score alone. It also means the reverse — a business without revenue moving through an operating account has nothing for underwriting to read.

Two things decide whether PIRS can fund you. First, whether your industry is one we underwrite; 12 categories are restricted and the rest are in scope. Second, whether the business clears our base qualifications, which are guidelines rather than hard gates. Both are spelled out below.

Qualification criteria

Built for established U.S. businesses.

Every file is reviewed on its own merits, but these are the thresholds most approved deals share. Guidelines, not hard gates.

Time in business

3+ years

Annual revenue

$500K+

Personal credit floor

500+ FICO

Geography

All 50 states

No hard credit check to apply: pre-approval uses a soft inquiry only. Close to these numbers but not exactly there? Apply anyway — time in business, revenue, and credit are factors among several, and strong, consistent sales can offset a weaker score.

Industries we don't fund

The categories we can't underwrite.

This is the complete list. We publish it so nobody spends time on an application we already know we can't fund.

  • Real estate
  • Motor-vehicle sales and auto dealers
  • Boat dealers
  • Legal services
  • Accounting services
  • Travel
  • Casinos, gaming, and gambling
  • Limousine, taxi, and transportation
  • Cannabis
  • Financial and investment services
  • Brokerages
  • Solar

If your category is not on this list, you are eligible to apply. PIRS funds established businesses across construction, manufacturing, technology, e-commerce, healthcare, professional services, restaurants, retail, hospitality, and franchises.

Subcontractors and specialty trades are eligible. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors, and roofers are funded, alongside residential builders and commercial general contractors. See how we fund construction.

Individual industry pages may note narrower sub-segments within a category that we review differently. The list above is the site-wide one.

What you'll need

Four things, and none of them is a data room.

The application takes minutes. These are the documents and details that let an underwriter read your file the same day.

Recent business bank statements

A few months of recent statements from your primary operating account, all pages as the bank issued them. This is the centerpiece — it shows what revenue arrives and how consistently.

A government-issued photo ID

A driver's license or passport for each owner listed on the application. Standard identity verification, and a common source of avoidable delay when a document has expired.

Your business tax ID (EIN)

Ties the application to the legal entity. Use the exact legal name on your state registration and note any DBA separately.

The application itself

Entity name, time in business, industry, approximate monthly revenue, ownership, and the amount you're seeking. Minutes, not a data room.

Most files approve without tax returns or full financial packages. Larger or more complex files may draw additional requests, and every file is individually underwritten.

After you apply

From application to funded, in a single day.

No multi-week underwriting cycle. No document marathon. No hard credit check to get a number.

  1. You apply

A short form and your recent business bank statements is enough to start.

  2. You get a soft offer the same day

Same-day soft offer for qualified files. Pre-approval is a soft inquiry only, with no hard credit check.

  3. Funding in as little as 24 hours

Accept and sign, and funds typically wire within 24 hours of approval. Larger or more complex deals may take a day longer for verification.

What we can promise: a same-day answer on qualified files, a soft inquiry rather than a hard credit check to get that answer, and a real person who owns your file from application to funding.

What we can't: an approval. Every file is individually underwritten, and nothing on this page guarantees one. Meeting the guidelines above makes you eligible to apply — it does not commit PIRS to an offer.

PIRS Capital's product is legally a purchase of future receivables at a discount, not a loan. All offers subject to underwriting, qualification, and verification.

Eligibility questions

Straight answers.

What businesses are not eligible for a merchant cash advance from PIRS?
PIRS does not fund these 12 categories: Real estate, Motor-vehicle sales and auto dealers, Boat dealers, Legal services, Accounting services, Travel, Casinos, gaming, and gambling, Limousine, taxi, and transportation, Cannabis, Financial and investment services, Brokerages, Solar. Every other industry is in scope if the business meets the base qualifications. If your category is not on that list, you are eligible to apply.
What are the basic qualifications for working capital?
Most approved businesses meet three benchmarks: 3+ years in business, $500K+ in annual revenue, and a 500+ FICO credit profile for the principal. These are guidelines, not hard cutoffs — every file is reviewed on its own merits, and strong, consistent sales can offset a weaker score.
Does PIRS fund subcontractors and specialty trades?
Yes. PIRS funds residential builders, commercial general contractors, specialty trades, and subcontractors — including electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors, and roofers. Real-estate-investment-focused entities are not eligible.
What do I need to apply?
A short application plus a few months of recent business bank statements from your primary operating account, a government-issued photo ID for each owner listed, and your business tax ID or EIN. Most files approve without tax returns or full financial packages.
Does applying affect my credit score?
There is no hard credit check to apply. Pre-approval uses a soft inquiry only.
What happens after I apply?
Qualified files get a soft offer the same day. Once you accept and sign, funds typically wire within 24 hours of approval. Larger or more complex deals may take a day longer for verification. Every file is individually underwritten, and all offers are subject to underwriting, qualification, and verification.
My business does not quite meet the guidelines. Should I still apply?
Yes. Time in business, revenue, and credit are factors among several rather than hard gates. A business close to the benchmarks with strong, consistent revenue may still qualify, though the offer may be sized more conservatively. Applying carries no obligation and no cost.
